SISTEMUL KRYPTOR PNS (Prenatal Screening)
The FMF method is the unanimously accepted and certified standard for the first quarter screening and it successfully fulfils the high scientific quality criteria imposed by the FMF (Fetal Medicine Foundation, London).
Parents can find out, starting the very first 12 weeks of age of the fetus, if there is a high risk of chromosomal abnormalities and, in the case of a high or medium risk, they can turn either to the invasive prenatal diagnosis (chorial biopsy) or to the testing of the fetal DNA in the mother’s blood. The right to information and the avoidance of medical conditions that irreparably mark your life are essential to any woman.
The combined Fetal Medicine Foundation- Brahms Kryptor test guarantees a higher bi-test accuracy (it is one of the mandatory medical tests recommended in assessing the development of the fetus and the evolution of the pregnancy) by adjusting the ultrasound of a FMF-accredited MD, through a software including a database of more than 400,000 first quarter ultrasound. The method uses biochemical markers: PAPP-A and beta HCG, alongside ultrasound fetus measurements and the maternal data, to guarantee an increased sensitivity and specificity result. We firmly believe that the use of a software integrating an ultrasound performed by a FMF-accredited MD, alongside the biochemical tests performed on Brahms- Kryptor analyzer during the first quarter pregnancy screening, is the golden standard in the screening of chromosomal abnormalities, offering a sensitivity of more than 90%, and this should represent a pregnancy monitoring routine, not an exception.

PlGF and sFlt/ PlGF
Another field of specialty in Obstetrics & Gynecology is represented by the preeclampsia risk for the mother. Preeclampsia is associated with high blood pressure during pregnancy and proteinuria occurring after the 20th pregnancy week.
Preeclampsia causes severe maternal and fetal complications that range from premature birth, intrauterine growth restriction, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, to maternal death. The earlier the onset, the more severe the symptoms.
There is an acute need to identify pregnant women with an increased risk of preeclampsia, especially after the 20th week of pregnancy, in order to refer them to the relevant assistance centers, for the administration of corticosteroids, promoting fetal pulmonary development or in order to provide anti-high blood pressure or convulsion treatment.
Kryptor systems can identify these pregnant women through the PlGF test, combined with PAPP A, maternal measure of blood pressure and the uterine artery flow for first quarter pregnant women, or through the sFlt/PlGF fraction test in the 2nd and 3rd pregnancy quarter.
The fetal risk assessment using the FMF-accredited Gold Standard methods, as well as the sFlt/ plGf preeclampsia diagnosis tests are available at the following centers:
KRYPTOR ENDOCRINE MARKERS
can provide a very early determination of thyroid cancer relapse or Graves Disease with a high level of accuracy, their dosing being useful in subsequent management and the therapeutic management of the two pathologies.
Kryptor-sensitive thyroglobulin
is a determination that is of utmost importance in monitoring the thyroid cancer relapse. The measurement of the concentration of this hormone should be possible when the levels are very low, which shows that the relapse is in an incipient stage, when therapeutic solutions are still available. With KRYPTOR, this determination can be performed at very low hormone concentrations, when it goes undetected via other methods or tools, and without requiring thyroid stimulation.Thyroglobulin determination is useful in one of the following situations:
o Post-surgical monitoring of patients with differentiated thyroid cancer
o Early detection of metastases in thyroid cancer or the exclusion thereof
o Post-surgical monitoring following thyroidectomy
o To determine the efficiency of the radioactive iodine therapy.
KRYPTOR thyroglobulin is the most sensitive thyroglobulin determination with the most relevant predictive value in the case of thyroid cancer relapse.
TRAK HUMAN KRYPTOR
is a useful determination on the Basedow Disease or hyperthyroidism, characterized by a thyroid hormone excess due to the immunoglobulin hyper stimulation of the TSH receivers. The determination of anti-thyroid antibodies, where high values are a confirmation of the Basedow Disease diagnosis, uses human anti-TSH antibodies, this test featuring the highest specificity currently available. TRAK Human is the only Basedow determination using human-origin antibodies obtained by cloning.Endocrine marker determinations using the most specific method is currently available in Romania in Sanador Network
PCTQ
is a quick immunochromatographic assay produced by ThermoFisher, which provides information on the presence or absence of sepsis through the significant dosing of Procalcitonin. Procalcitonin (PCT) increases 2-3 hours after the induction determined by the bacterial endotoxin and it may reach several hundred nanograms/l in severe sepsis or septic shock. If the therapeutic intervention is successful, the values return to normal, indicating a favorable prognostic. The persistence of high levels or even the increase thereof are negative prognosis indicators. Procalcitonin dosing provides a differentiated diagnosis between a local infection, a systemic one or septic shock.

KRYPTOR PCT
is a quantitative determination of Procalcitonin, performed on the KRYPTOR equipment with a diagnosis sensitivity of 92% and a 98% specificity. The quantitative determination of procalcitonin is useful in monitoring the efficiency of the antibiotic therapy of the patient in septic shock and in deciding on the suitable therapeutic strategy.
The dilution-free procalcitonin range is of 0.02-50ng/l, with an automatic dilution reaching up to 5000ng/l. Thus, the severe conditions with high procalcitonin values can be carefully monitored in terms of therapeutic efficiency, allowing for therapeutic decisions that can save a patient’s life.
